The LATIn Project, consisting of nine Latin American and 3 European universities, began in early 2012, funded by the European Union under the ALFA III Program. Its main objectives are aimed at reducing the problem of high cost of textbooks in Higher Education in Latin America and generate content from and to Latin America, thinking in different contexts, cultures and languages.
The main action of the project is the creation and dissemination of the Latin American Textbook Open to university level initiative. It is being carried out through the implementation of its three components: adoption strategy, methodologies and platforms of collaborative writing.
